If you know me, you know I love showtunes. If you don’t know me, now you know: I like showtunes. Pirates of Penzance, RENT, Fiddler on the Roof, Cinderella, Spamalot, Phantom of the Opera, and so many more, are my true loves (though, admittedly, not enough to look up whether their titles should be italicized or capitalized).
I have nothing significant to say on this subject, but having immersed myself in several of the aforementioned musicals for the last few hours, I figured it would be permissible to begin this intermediary post with that quick tidbit about myself.
Wait…intermediary, you say? You mean, this post is some kind of segue to something even bigger?
Abso-freakin’-lutely. I’m very excited to be in the planning stages of a piece I will be co-writing with my good friend Lee, on a topic that many of you may think you understand. But you don’t. Trust us. It’ll make you think.
I’ve said enough. Time to retire. But not before letting you all know that, apparently, Cinderella is coming to Broadway in an engagement that began just a week ago. And it doesn’t look like it was any good. Shame.
By the way, I’ve slowly but steadily been updating my “50 things” list from a few weeks ago. It’s looking strong so far, if I do say so myself.
